journal quilt - inspired from a rusty old fire grate

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Titled "journal - january", this piece is A4 size.

It is worked on a base layer made from strips of hand-dyed fabric which has then been encrusted with machine embroidery and bead work. The inspiration for this piece came from the observation of old iron scrap, this being a close focus of a burnt out metal fire-grate.
